New Delhi: Xiaomi has finally revealed that it is bringing the recently unveiled Redmi Note 3 to India. The company has shared the news via Twitter and Facebook, without stating as to when it is actually planning to launch the phone in India.
Xiaomi India in a tweet says, "RT the AWESOME news that a new #RedmiNote3 is coming. Be 1 of 100 Redmi Note 3 Explorers!" The company is seeking 100 Explorers for Redmi Note 3 in India, which, as the company claims, will get to experience the Redmi Note 3 first-hand.
"Redmi Note 3 Explorers will be given a list of 100 missions to accomplish. Explorers will be ranked based on the number of successful missions and support from other Mi fans. All Explorers are required to return the phone after the challenge," says Xiaomi.
Interested people can register till January 31.
The company says to reveal more details about the Redmi Note 3 India launch after the 100 Explorers are chosen.
The Redmi Note 3 was unveiled to the world in November last year. Featuring a metal body, the Redmi Note 3 is engineered with a MediaTek octa-core processor, and comes in two variants - 16 GB (with 2 GB of RAM) and 32 GB (with 3 GB of RAM).
It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display and runs Android-based OS MIUI 7. Its fingerprint sensor is claimed to unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds.
The Redmi Note 3 is packed with a 4000 mAh battery and is said to support fast charging, offering 50 per cent of power in 1 hour.
The phone which is otherwise claimed to be "very thin" measures 8.65 mm at its thickest point.
The 16 GB model is priced at 899 RMB (roughly translates to Rs 9,400), and 32 GB at 1099 RMB (around Rs 11,500). The company, however, is yet to announce prices for the Indian market.
