Sony Xperia XZ will be available starting October 10 in Forest Blue, Mineral Black and Platinum colour options at a best buy price of Rs 49,990.

Sony India today launched its flagship Xperia XZ smartphone in India. Like other top-end Sony Xperia smartphones, the Xperia XZ also flaunts its prowess in the camera department. Sony has introduced Triple Sensor technology in the latest Xperia XZ.

The flagship smartphone is priced at Rs 51,990 and will be available starting October 10 in Forest Blue, Mineral Black and Platinum colour options. Sony states that the device can purchased at a best buy price of Rs 49,990.

There is pre-booking offer available t all Sony Center, select retail outlets and online exclusively on Amazon.in from 1 October to 10 October. As part of the deal, customers will get Sony SmartBand Talk – SWR30 worth Rs 8,990 for free.

On the hardware front, the Sony Xperia XZ is powered by a 2.15GHz quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 510 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory with support for up to 256GB microSD cards.

It is dual SIM (hybrid nano SIM/microSD slot) smartphone with support for 4G LTE, VoLTE, ViLTE support on both slots. It runs Android Marshmallow operating system out-of-the box and will receive the latest Android Nougat update by October.

It sports a 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Other display technologies include TRILUMINOS, X-Reality engine and Dynamic Contrast Enhancement.

Powered by a 2,900mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, Sony claims that 10 minutes of charge can provide 5.5 hours of talktime. There is a USB Type-C port for charging.

Xperia XZ is IP65/68 water and dust resistant. The fingerprint scanner is integrated with the power/wake button.

The device is equipped with a 23MP rear camera and a 13MP wide front camera for selfies. The company has powered them with f2.0 Sony G Lens, Exmor RS IMX300 custom sensor and BIONZ image processing engine.

The Triple Sensor technology aims to provide best results for shooting fast moving objects under low or complex lighting.

Sony is continuing with the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack in the new Xperia XZ. On the audio front, the device supports Hi-Resolution audio- LPCM, FLAC, ALAC, DSD. Note that Sony is not bundling any earphones with the Xperia XZ.
