Amitabh Bachchan Lends Support To KBC 16 Contestant Trying To Treat Her Bedridden Son

Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 has had the audience hooked as participants continue to use their knowledge to win big prize amounts. The quiz show provides opportunities for many people to enhance their lifestyles and realise long-held goals. Time and again, the contestants narrate their life struggles to the host and the actor, in return, has shown a lot of empathy towards them. In some cases, Amitabh Bachchan went to the extent of lending his support as well. Recently, he decided to help a mother who has been struggling with his son’s health and came on the show to make his life better.

In the recent episode, Amitabh Bachchan learnt that competitor Shalini Sharma travelled from Delhi barefoot to participate in the show. She shared her painful experience with her younger son Chinmay, who was about 18 years of age and was bedridden. His condition is unpredictable on a regular basis, and the recovery rate cannot be guaranteed.

Shalini Sharma compared her son’s health to that of a one-month-old newborn. Her son had been ill since birth and suffered from epilepsy seizures. They got a proper diagnosis after two years of his birth. She shared how initially, her son experienced 30-40 seizures. Chinmay became immobile as a result of hip dislocation surgery in 2009. The mother stated, “Uske aankhon ka dard mei nai bayaan kar sakti (I cannot express the pain he holds in his eyes).” Shalini also stated that her son was born prematurely and weighed only 1.75 kg.

Listening to her ordeal, Amitabh Bachchan extended his help to the contestant and said, “Aap eske report hume dijiyega. Hum kuch apne doctors se puchenge kya hoh sakta hai esme (Give his reports to mine. I will ask my doctors about what can be done).” By the end of the episode, Shalini Sharma took home Rs 25 lakh.

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan promised contestant Jayanta Duley that he would build a toilet in his home and lauded his efforts to promote hygiene in his community. The contestant has shared how his family had to go to the lake to take a bath, which left him concerned.

The latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati is being broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television every Monday to Friday at 9 pm. It premiered on August 12.
