Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa is currently dominating the TRP charts, as its evolving storyline keeps viewers glued to their screens. At present, the focus is on the aftermath of Samar’s tragic demise. Anupama and Vanraj Shah are determined to bring justice against a heartless politician whose son was responsible for Samar’s death. Sagar Parekh, who played Samar had entered the show a few months ago and he quickly earned praise from fans and viewers. His final scene left fans impressed and saddened by his departure. Amid the emotional track, rumours circulated that Sagar was offered opportunities to participate in Bigg Boss 17 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. In a recent interview with ETimes, Sagar confirmed the news and revealed his reasons for declining these offers.
He said, “I was keen on participating in either of them. My reaction was ‘Wow, itni jaldi Bigg Boss’ as I was expecting I would get the show after doing enough leads and shows in my late 30s. Then I would have entered the show and done it. I had received the offer before leaving Anupamaa. I even went to the meeting and things were fructifying but my parents didn’t want me to do Bigg Boss. My mom told me, ‘Mujhe tu itna bhi famous nahi chahiye, I am happy with whatever you are.’ I even told her that this is what she always wanted. She literally told me, ‘I want you to become an actor and not a celebrity only. I think you will become a celebrity with your skills anyway.’ Maybe later I would surely participate.”
Further talking about not participating in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, Sagar Parekh explained that he wanted to confirm his participation in the show but couldn’t do so due to his contractual obligations with Anupamaa. His commitment for Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Panday’s show was until his final appearance, which prevented him from accepting other offers. Unfortunately, when it came to accepting JDJ’s offer, he couldn’t respond within the required time as they had already started shooting. However, Sagar claimed that he might join the show as a wildcard entry if given a chance.
Despite spending a short time on the set of Anupamaa, Sagar Parekh formed a strong bond with the entire cast, particularly with his on-screen mother, Rupali Ganguly. Rupali even shared a touching message for Sagar on Instagram, along with some delightful pictures of the two. Meanwhile, alongside Rupali, the Rajan Shahi’s show also features other talented cast including Gaurav Khanna, Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, Alpana Buch, Nishi Saxena, and others, each playing key roles in the series.
