Most airlines around the world maintain a sincere and friendly social media presence, but Ryanair is not one of them. The Ireland-based low-cost carrier is known for its humorous and sarcastic approach to customer care inquiries, complaints, or social commentary. Recently, the airline responded to a random video that showed a passenger using a ‘flashy’ charger on a flight. A famous X account, PicturesFoIder, shared this video and wrote, “This woman’s charger during a 6 plus hour red eye flight.” A red-eye flight is a commercial flight that departs at night and lands at the following day.
Ryanair reshared this clip and wrote, “And this is why we don’t have plugs.” With this response, Ryanair jokingly addressed why they don’t have charging facilities on board, a feature that many airlines would shy away from mentioning. Ryanair’s reply has over 14,000 likes so far.

Commenting on it, an X user joked, “I’m surprised you have tray tables, tbh.” Another person theorized why not having charging plugs on board might be a good thing and wrote, “It’s also a good way to avoid people bringing and plugging defective devices, ready to short circuit or catch fire.” An X user noted, “Sorry but you don’t have flights with a time-frame of +6hours..and that’s good don’t get me wrong..Lol.”
This is not the first time that Ryanair’s reply has raked in likes. Back in October, an X user ToldYouThusly criticised the airline’s narrow airplane staircase. While sharing the photo of the narrow staircase, ToldYouThusly wrote, “Ryanair I will bring my own stairs next time.” Instead of ignoring this post, Ryanair replied, “Bring your own plane next time too.”

Similarly, in September last year, an X user complained that she paid extra for the window seat but did not get the proper window seat. While sharing a photo of her airplane seat that was next to the emergency exit door, the passenger wrote, “Seriously Ryanair I paid for the window seat.”

In response, Ryanair shared the same photo and encircled the small circular glass opening that was on the emergency exit door to highlight that this small circle was the window.
While many people criticised Ryanair for making fun of the passengers, others argued that customers should have realistic expectations from a low-cost carrier. Expressing the former sentiment, a person wrote, “Ryanair offers like $50 round trip flights across Europe – imagine complaining that you were “mugged” because you didn’t have a big enough window to look out.”
