They say, “Bihar is not for beginners,” and this proved true when a video of train passengers pushing a train coach went viral. Yes, you heard that right. In a video circulating online, several men were seen pushing a train’s coach, successfully getting it moving, while their jubilant cheers echoed through Kiul Junction in Bihar’s Lakhisarai.
According to Lokmat Times, the incident happened after a fire broke out in the Patna-Jharkhand passenger train on Thursday, June 6, burning the ladies’ coach to ashes. Passengers and railway employees sprang into action, pushing the other coaches away from the burning one to prevent the fire from spreading. They even used stones to break the coupling between two bogies to make separation easier.

The video, which shows men pushing the coach, likely captures them in the act of separating the train coaches. However, News18 has not verified the authenticity of these claims.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time people have come together to push a train. Previously, a remarkable act of humanity was witnessed at Navi Mumbai’s Vashi station when commuters united to push an entire train to rescue a man trapped beneath its wheels. The gripping video of this rescue mission spread across social media, earning widespread admiration and showcasing the city’s indomitable spirit.
Mid-day reported that railway officials confirmed the incident as a case of track trespassing, highlighting the importance of using designated crossings. The man was crossing the tracks when a suburban local train bound for Panvel applied emergency brakes, stopping just in time to avoid disaster. With the man pinned beneath the train, bystanders collectively exerted force to shift the massive 12-carriage locomotive.

Though the initial attempts seemed futile, the original poster on Reddit, @Cat_Of_Culture, later revealed, “When I recorded this, people were just pushing randomly. Later, everybody collaborated and pushed at the same time, and it worked.” Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the man couldn’t survive his injuries.
