These coins were made between 1085 and 1107, according to archaeologists.

A woman was in for a surprise during her walk on a sea beach recently. She stumbled upon a buried treasure, which contained more than 2,150 silver coins, in the Kutna Hora town of the central Bohemian region in the Czech Republic. According to experts, it is a “once-in-a-decade discovery.” These silver coins are from 1085 and 1107, according to a press release translated into English by the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ARUP). Experts think these coins were made in Prague and brought into Bohemia. After investigation, experts said the coins found in the treasure are made of many types of metals. These mostly include silver, followed by copper, lead, and trace metals. These coins belong to a time about which archaeologists do not have much information.

Archaeologists said that if the metals included in these coins are known, then it will be easy to know their history. Archaeologist Philip Velimsky shared in a recent media interaction that they felt that there was a lot of political instability at that time. There were disputes among the members of the Premyslid dynasty regarding the throne of Prague. Wars were common at that time. That is why perhaps this looted money was hidden.

The value of these coins was very high then. Nowadays, the value of the coins is also high; they are in crores. It is said to be the biggest and most valuable treasure discovered in the last decade. As per latest reports, archaeologists will conduct scans of these coins and find out how much metal is in them. It will be presented in an exhibition to be held in 2025.

Earlier, a similar incident garnered attention. A video went viral showing a guy discovering a buried treasure after removing a tree from the ground. He discovered a collection of silver coins that seems to be centuries old. In the viral clip, a person is seen excavating a pit in the dirt near a tree. After excavating, he uproots a tree and uncovers a mud-covered jar. He opens the lid using a claw hammer. As soon as the man opens the jar, shiny items appear inside. The man, covered in mud, cleans them and holds out a pair of silver coins in his palm. The coins looked old and valuable. The man, who is a treasure hunter, uploaded the video on Instagram.
