Dog Climbs Top of Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. This is What Happened Next

“A dog climbed all the way up the Great Pyramid of Giza! Do you think he lives up there?” wrote an Instagram user who filmed the dog atop the largest Egyptian pyramid that served as the tomb of pharaoh Khufu, who ruled during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. The professional adventure athlete, Marshall Mosher, recorded this unusual sight while paramotoring in Egypt.

The video of the dog climbing to the peak of the 4,600-year-old structure has raked up over 25 million views and a flurry of responses. “No way a dog can climb the huge blocks alone. He was left there,” said an individual.

Another added, “He marked his territory,” while a third said, “Those blocks are BIG. That’s a crazy climb for a dog. I’m not convinced.”

“There must be a hidden elevator,” joked a fourth.

A fifth chimed in, “None of his friends are gonna believe him.”

While many doubted what they saw in the viral video, others were concerned about the dog’s safety and whether it had managed to get down. “I get out my mind!!!!What happened then? Did you get down the dog?” commented yet another Instagram user.

So, what really happened to the dog?

In an update on Thursday, Mosher shared that the lost dog who climbed the pyramid had safely descended. He even shared a video of the dog coming back down to the ground on its own. “The famous dog of the Great Pyramids was finally seen coming back down after his morning climb… Do you think he lives up there?”

Reacting to this particular video of the dog navigating the pyramid with ease, an Instagram user wrote, “He’s walking down as someone who done that before several times. He been up there for sure.”

“Thank you for taking the time to clarify the situation! Many of us were worried that the dog would not be able to get off,” added another.

A third commented, “He nearly blends in, he’s right at home!”

“Privileged dog. We can’t go up there, but he can!” expressed a fourth.
