A cop in Ghaziabad has faced disciplinary action for flouting traffic rules related to number plates. The cop’s vehicle has “99” prominently displayed on the number plate, which is a clear violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. Additionally, the vehicle bore the word “police,” which is only authorised for official government vehicles. The traffic rule violation was reported by an X user. As a result, the police officer was issued a challan of Rs 5,000.

“Does the police have special power to keep this type of number plate or only they? By the way, for the general public the fine is 5 thousand. Location – Near Arthala Mod in front of Ahuja Hotel. Ghaziabad,” reads the caption written along with the picture shared by Gaur online. Alongside, he tagged UP Police and Ghaziabad Police in his post.

Reacting upon X user’s complaints, Ghaziabad Traffic Police wrote, “Taking cognisance of the complaint received on X, necessary challan action has been taken.” The police also shared a screengrab of the Rs 5,000 fine imposed on the cop.

Earlier, a video of a man performing stunts in the presence of police in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur went viral on social media. After the video gained significant traction on X, the police issued a fine of Rs 5,000 for risking his life and that of others.
The video begins with a man in a maroon shirt riding a motorcycle on Ganga Barrage in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. Two police officers on a bike appear and attempt to chase him. The man performs a dangerous wheelie stunt, balancing the bike on its rear wheel. A senior police officer on a motorcycle is also seen joining the chase before the video ends.
