Man Explains How He Gets Free Meals From McDonald’s Using ChatGPT
Many people called out the man for jeopardising the jobs of the McDonald’s workers by putting fake negative feedback.

The advent of ChatGTP has made many things easy for people, be it writing college assignments, summarising long reports, or even solving math problems. Recently, an entrepreneur shared how he uses the AI model to get free meals from McDonald’s. Gage, the co-owner of Amazon re-selling group All Things Arbitrage, recently said that he steals receipts from McDonald’s self-checkout kiosks and uses their unique code to open up a McDonald’s consumer feedback form. He then uses ChatGPT to write a bad feedback. After he fills in the negative feedback, Gage said that he usually gets free meal vouchers as compensation from the fast food chain.

The 22-year-old shared this trick on an episode of the ‘All Things Amazon’ podcast back in November. He claimed that so far he has gotten more than 100 free meal vouchers in just nine months. He said that McDonald’s “tastes better when it’s free" and described that his manoeuvring is harmless. He said, “It doesn’t harm anyone. I’m not mentioning any names, it’s just purely to get the meal voucher."

Gage also shared that due to his tricks, his local McDonald’s branch “knows him" and they won’t “give him a receipt for anything." He added that as a result of his negative reviews, the fast food branch has put up posters asking people to write positive reviews and said, “They’ve plastered posters up everywhere saying, ‘Please fill in the survey and put highly satisfied."

Even as Gage insisted that his ways of ‘scamming’ McDonald’s is harmless, many people argued that his fake negative reviews might be putting the job of McDonald’s workers on the line.

Criticising his actions, a YouTube user wrote, “This guy is what is wrong with this generation! These poor minimum wage workers are getting threats to be fired because of his fraudulent accounts." Another person wrote, “This does harm people. The salaried management team is directly financially rewarded for good feedback and this is affecting their bonuses.’

Expressing a similar sentiment, a person commented, “This is messed up lol there are department managers in charge of complaints and not only are you creating more work for them when they are barely given time to do them to begin with but also making them look bad as they have goals to increase their scores on their surveys."
