Old video showing man slipping off speeding train in Mumbai goes viral again.

Mumbai’s local trains have long been the city’s lifeline, but they’ve also been a source of concern due to their notorious overcrowding. Every day, countless people cram into these trains, and with the monsoons in full swing, the situation gets even worse. Delays and reduced train services only add to the chaos, increasing the crowds and the risk of accidents. Amidst this perennial issue, an old video from a Mumbai local train has resurfaced on ‘X’, sparking fresh discussions.

The video from 2022 captures a harrowing incident. A young man, Danish Zakir Hussain, was hanging off the footboard of a Mumbai local train, along with a few others, as it travelled from Kalwa, Thane to Dadar at 9:30 a.m. Passengers on a parallel train recorded the scene. Hussain, while dangling precariously, turned his head and tragically hit a pole, sending him flying off the train and onto the tracks. The fall left onlookers horrified.

A third voice chimed in, “More & More Trains should be deployed for Mumbai for Local people/Local Trains & decrease the time of Long travel passenger trains and start more local trains and adjust the timings so no one would suffer after work.” Another plea was more personal, “People need to value your life more. I will never risk my life even if my job is taken because I was late. Not all people from poor background also risk their life like this and have more sense. But some don’t have sense to value their life.”
