Three employees from the Revenue Department in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh were suspended after a video surfaced from a farewell party of a Tehsildar in which the trio was purportedly seen showering notes on a dancer.
The video which has been shared widely on social media showed that dancers were purportedly called in at a farewell party and people were dancing under the influence of alcohol.
An FIR has been registered against the three suspended employees and an investigation is going on. The incident took place at Lalganj Ajhara tehsil at Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district.
The District Magistrate immediately took action against the employees. The three revenue personnel along with two lekhpals (accountants) were named in the FIR and a case was registered against 25 unknown people.
Lekhpal Sangh president KK Saroj, Lekhpal Sanjay Yadav and Tehsil’s Amin Brijendra Singh have been named in the FIR registered at Lalganj police station for allowing dancers at the event without permission.
The DM has also ordered an inquiry against the revenue officials. The farewell program was organized in Lalganj tehsil two days ago in honour of Tehsildar Dhirendra Singh.
A woman dancer performed at the event. One of the revenue officials also danced with her in an obscene manner. There were allegations of squandering a lot of money by the officials by having a dance party along with alcohol.
The video has led to a stir in the district administration. DM Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan said that after the video came to his notice, three revenue personnel have been suspended for organizing the event without permission. He added that an FIR has also been registered against them and an inquiry is being conducted.
