In a country as massive and diverse as India, many places comprise its rich culture, history and natural beauty. One of these wonders is the Guhar Moti village in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India. This village, located in the westernmost part of India, is famous for being the last place to see sunset in the country. In this place, the sunset happens around 07:40 PM. The sunsets at Guhar Moti offer a spectacular sight and as the sun dips below the horizon, the sky is painted with vibrant hues of orange and pink. It casts a magical glow over the water bodies and leaves a lasting impression. Meanwhile, the sun rises first in Dong in Arunachal Pradesh. This is because the Earth rotates on its axis from west to east.

Besides being the last place to experience the sunset, this village is also famous for being a paradise for birdwatchers in winter. It attracts a lot of birds like flamingoes, pelicans, etc. Flamingos are large birds identifiable by their long necks, sticklike legs and pink or reddish feathers. On the other hand, Pelicans are huge waterbirds with an enormous pouch under their long beak. Guhar Moti also has a sprawling water lake named Narayan Sarovar beside it and is a place of worship and a popular pilgrimage site. It is one of the five sacred lakes i.e. Panch-Sarovar according to the Shrimad Bhagavata Purana. There is also a wildlife sanctuary situated near the lake that is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and covers an area of 444 sq. km.

According to the 2011 census, the total geographical area of Guhar Moti village is 773.37 hectares and has a total population of 195 people, out of which the male population is 100 while the female population is 95. The literacy rate of Guhar Moti village is 51.28 per cent, of which 61.00 per cent of males and 41.05 per cent of females are literate. There are about 42 houses in this village and its pincode is 370601. Bhuj is 150 Km away from Guhar Moti village and is the nearest town for economic activities.
