Have you ever had an unexpected visitor at home? Most of us have had the experience of finding an uninvited guest, like an insect, a butterfly or maybe a small bird inside our homes. But, imagine if that guest wasn’t just small or harmless. What if it had four legs? While it sounds scary, this is exactly what happened with a Lucknow resident recently. No doubt, it has left the people present there as well the internet quite startled. In a now-viral video, we can spot a large monitor lizard that somehow managed to make its way into a second-floor apartment in a building in Uttar Pradesh’s capital.
In the clip, we can see a woman filming the lizard on a carpet near a door. The woman soon gets frightened and runs away while shouting. The exact date of the incident isn’t clear, but it has certainly caught the attention of many viewers.
The video was posted on the social media platform X (Formerly Twitter). “This video is from Yash Heights Tower Apartment in Vibhuti Khand, Lucknow, where a monitor lizard was found on the second floor. Seeing this, there was a stir among the local people,” explains the post.

People who saw the video shared their thoughts in the comments. A person wrote, “Hey, it doesn’t do anything, it is very calm, there is no need to be afraid of it, I like it the most.” Another commented, “I understand the panic, but they don’t do much. Still, it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
In response to this incident, the Lucknow Police has also shared an update on social media. They mentioned that the Forest Department had been informed and had taken action to handle the situation. Their post read, “Chinhat police station and forest department team are on the spot, necessary action is being taken.”
