Instances of reckless driving leading to serious accidents have become quite common in the present time. While those in the driver’s and passenger’s seats are at the greatest risk of getting injured in such cases, there are also times when innocent pedestrians pay a hefty price. One such unfortunate incident was captured on the CCTV footage of a salon, where a speeding car became uncontrollable and ended up hitting a pedestrian on the sidewalk. Shared on Reddit, the clip shows the vehicle’s shocking maneuvers, leaving internet users stunned.
The incident reportedly took place on the morning of May 11 in Kerala. As the video plays, one can spot a man walking on the side of the road, close to a salon. A few seconds later, a black Kia Sonet subcompact SUV appears on the scene, making a sharp left turn. However, the woman in the driver’s seat eventually lost her control and ended up crashing into the barbershop, directly hitting the man.
The video shows the glass in the barbershop crashing into pieces upon the impact of the accident, leaving everyone in a state of panic. The driver, who was accompanied by a male passenger, was also panicking after realising the situation. During this time, two men were standing in front of the shop. While one managed to avoid getting hit, another one was directly jammed between the shop and the car.

The video also includes footage from inside the shop, showing a young man getting a haircut. Unaware of the impending danger, both the customer and the staff were engaged in their own duties. As soon as the car crashed, they were left shocked and immediately moved to their left to avoid the impact. Amid all the chaos, it remains uncertain whether the pedestrian was unharmed or injured.
The video also sparked an instant debate on social media, leaving people divided over the fault of the car and the driver. A user wrote, “I don’t know.. It SEEMS like she is in her learning phase, and the guy was teaching her…idiots should have found an empty ground or something for driving lessons,” while another commented, “Indians seriously need strict driving lessons and exams based on the road and traffic conditions.”
“She was revving the car even after the first hit. Tire wheelspinning like crazy,” a user wrote, while another one highlighted, “Pickup doesn’t make you stop turning your steering wheel. Stop blaming cars for stupid accidents and stupid people behind the wheel.”
