'What Can Be More Dangerous Than This?' Video Of Kids Riding Bike Triggers Safety Concerns
In a video posted by IPS officer Pankaj Nain, the children could be seen riding a bike without helmets, unaware of the dangers.

Most people learn to ride a two-wheeler after getting a hang of a bicycle. A gearless motorcycle licence in India requires you to be at least 16 years old. However, you must be at least 18 years old to apply for a licence to ride a motorbike with gear. But there have been several cases in the country where minors are seen riding bikes and scooters.

A video of two boys, roughly around 10 years old, riding a motorbike without supervision or safety equipment went viral recently. Road safety concerns sparked soon after the video was uploaded by Indian Police Services (IPS) officer Pankaj Nain. The two boys could be seen riding the motorbike carelessly and without helmets. The alarming clip emphasises the value of parental watchfulness and serves as a sobering reminder of the risks children face when left alone.

The children can be seen riding the bike in the video with apparent ease, seemingly unaware of the risks they could be taking. Moreover, parental accountability is called into doubt when there is no adult supervision. “What can be more dangerous than this! Parents pls take care of your loved ones. These lives are precious,” the caption reads.

The clip was shared on X (formally Twitter) on April 22 and so far, it has collected more than 11,700 views. Social media users have expressed deep worry over the video and underlined how important it is for parents to prioritise their children’s safety and follow traffic laws.

One user commented, “Very dangerous,” another said, “But parents take pride in it”.

It is against the law for anyone under the age of 18 to drive a motor vehicle in a public place. Strict safety precautions, such as wearing helmets, are required even in situations where motorbikes with lower engines are allowed for anyone over 16. The children in the video look to be much younger than the legal driving age, which makes what they’re doing even riskier.
