'What's Wrong With Society?' Video Of Men Fighting Over Extra Luggage On Train Is Trending
In the video, two men shouted and yelled at each other over ‘extra luggage’.

Travelling in over-crowded Indian trains is not a particularly pleasant experience. The lack of personal space and crowded atmosphere, adds to the frustration of passengers. Often fights break out between people over simple things like luggage space. Sometimes passengers accuse each other of hoarding their luggage space and the disagreement turns into a shouting match. Now a video is going viral that reportedly shows two men shouting and yelling at each other ‘extra luggage’. The specifics of the fight are unclear, but it appears that one person was asking the other to put his luggage outside the coach, while the other man disagreed with him. Someone in the background mentions that one of the men is drunk.

It is unclear where and when this video was taken. It was recently shared on X by a popular account called ‘Ghar Ke Kalesh’. The 42-second video was captioned, “Kalesh b/w a Drunk guy and Family over extra luggage of a passenger inside Indian Railways.” Commenting on this post, an X user wrote, “Ban alcohol in India.” Another person asked, “What’s wrong with society?” An X user observed, “Now that is something that happens a lot in India. The man does not sound drunk but is surely unphased by the fact that the police apparently asked him to not use the said space. India: not for beginners.”

Taking a more lax view of the situation, an X user wrote, “Jaane do …bechara chupchap to ja raha hai …there was a time I used to travel frequently Delhi -Mumbai by Rajdhani and almost every group of 5-6 traders used to drink right inside coach almost every time. Ratlam par bahar se la kar deta tha Attendant. Lol. (Let him go…the poor man was travelling quietly…there was a time I used to travel frequently from Delhi to Mumbai by Rajdhani and almost every group of 5-6 traders used to drink right inside coach almost every time. At Ratlam a attendant use to bring the drinks from outside. Lol.)”

Back in January this year, a video from Vande Bharat train that showed two groups of passengers heatedly arguing with each other over luggage space went viral. At the end of the video, a police officer steps in to address the situation.

Commenting this video, an X user wrote, “Be it vande Bharat or any flight, we Indians everywhere find a reason to engage in a kalesh.” Another person wrote, “Some things never change in India. Imagine seeing we are fighting for a bag spot in a bullet train.”
