The cabin of the CLA 45 AMG looks similar to the A-Class but with additional AMG bits like the sports seats, flat bottomed steering wheel and AMG badging.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the CLA 45 AMG performance saloon in the country at Rs 68.50 lakh ex-Delhi. Based on the NGCC platform, the CLA 45 AMG is the most affordable performance car from the German manufacturer in the country as of now.

Inspired by the CLS four-door coupe, the CLA 45 AMG adds sportier bodywork and a hunkered down stance to the base CLA (coming to India soon). Similar to the SLK 55, there are matte black alloys; scooped out air dams, air intakes which are wedge shaped, side skirt fins and a splitter. Not to mention those huge AMG tailpipes. You can also get the car customised to your needs.

Apart from the price, what makes the CLA more desirable is that under the hood this car boasts 'the world's most powerful 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor'. AMG's smallest engine makes 360PS/450Nm and Mercedes claims it can go from naught to 100kmph in 4.6 seconds.

We tested the car in launch control mode and the CLA45 AMG completed the run in a second more than claimed. A 7-speed dual-clutch AMG SpeedShift transfers power to the road and in typical AMG fashion, there are also paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.
