2024 MG Astor Is Here, Check What's New The SUV Has To Offer

Morris Garages (MG) Motor India has introduced the 2024 Astor in the Indian market.

The crossover is now priced starting at Rs 9.98 lakh ex-showroom. The British carmaker has added a number of new features for 2024.

The Astor, however, has not undergone any cosmetic or mechanical changes. MG will sell the Astor in Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro trim levels.

The 2024 MG Astor has many new features, including ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror (IRVM), and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, the iSMART user interface has received updates, as reported by HT.

2024 MG Astor: Features, Specifications and Other Details

According to MG, the new iSMART 2.0 system offers more than 80 connectivity features. There is also a Jio-powered voice recognition system, which allows occupants to give voice commands for weather, cricket updates, calculator, clock, date/day information, horoscope, dictionary, news, and knowledge.

Other features remain unchanged, including automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, electric driver seat adjustment, and the Advanced Driver Assistance System.

The MG Astor is powered by two different petrol engines. There is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine. The maximum power output of the turbo-petrol is 138 bhp at 5,600 rpm, and the maximum torque output is 144 Nm at 3,600 rpm. Only a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is available with it. Next is the naturally aspirated engine, which can generate a maximum torque of 144 Nm at 4,400 rpm and 108 bhp at 6,000 rpm. It is paired with either a CVT automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox.

While the automatic gearbox is limited to the Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro models, the 1.5-litre engine with manual gearbox is available on all other variants except Savvy Pro. Only the Savvy Pro trim is equipped with the turbo-petrol unit.

The car comes equipped with six airbags, brake assist, ESP, traction control, ABS, EBD, hill start and descent control, and rear disc brakes. It also includes Level 2 ADAS features such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keep Assist.
