Air India, India’s top airline, has introduced a new feature called ‘Fare Lock’ on its website and mobile app, making travel planning easier and more flexible for passengers.
With Fare Lock, customers can reserve a chosen fare for 48 hours by paying a small fee. This allows them to finalize their travel plans without worrying about sudden price changes or seat availability. The feature is available for flights at least 10 days from the booking date.
To use Fare Lock, customers need to select their preferred flight, choose the Fare Lock option during booking, and pay a non-refundable fee. They can then confirm their booking later at the locked fare through the ‘Manage Booking’ section on Air India’s website or app.
Here are the Fare Lock fees (including taxes) based on the flight type:
Domestic Flights
- Flights Departing India: Rs 500
- Flights Arriving in India: Rs 500
Short-Haul International Flights
- Flights Departing India: Rs 850
- Flights Arriving in India: USD 10
Long-Haul International Flights
- Flights Departing India: Rs 1500
- Flights Arriving in India: USD 18
This new service is part of Air India’s efforts to enhance the customer experience by integrating advanced technology. By offering ‘Fare Lock,’ Air India continues to lead the way in providing flexible and convenient travel options for its passengers.
