Kawasaki Begins Delivering First Batch Of Ninja ZX-4R In India

A month after launching its Ninja ZX-4R bike in India, Japanese motorcycle maker Kawasaki has finally begun its first batch of deliveries.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, which comes in a single variant and only with one colour on offer, is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Furthermore, the bike offers a handling character that is similar to its bigger siblings, the Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-6R. The deliveries for the first batch of bikes began amid the ongoing festive season. Notably, the high-performance fully-faired motorcycle comes on the back of a completely built unit (CBU), which has resulted in its high price.

As the deliveries have already commenced, let’s take a look at the bike’s engine and other enhanced features.

Kawasaki ZX-4R: Features & Engine Options

The Kawasaki ZX-4R will be available in a single variant and with only a single colour offer which is Metallic Spark Black. It has a 4.3-inch digital instrument console which will come along with Bluetooth connectivity and four integrated riding modes including Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider. According to the company, the different modes will help riders select a level of traction control and power mode to suit their riding conditions.

Furthermore, the bike boasts a formidable 399cc 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, capable of revving up to an impressive 15,000 rpm. It delivers a remarkable 79 BHP at 14,500 rpm with the support of an air assistance system, along with a substantial 37.6 Nm of torque at 12,500 rpm. These impressive specifications firmly establish the bike as one of the most potent contenders in the 400cc segment. The engine is also mated with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

The ZX-4R also features an upside-down fork from Showa at the front with an adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Built on a high-tensile Trellis frame, its braking is handled by dual 290 mm discs in the front followed by which have been paired with Nissin 4-piston calipers and a 220 mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels.

Coming to its look, the bike has a sharp and sculpted look and has some design elements like dual all-LED headlamps and Ninja ZX-10R-like taillight. The turn indicators also have LED units.

Speaking about the bike launch, while it was revealed globally a few months back, it is internationally available in three variants including standard, SE, and RR. Only the base variant has been launched in India.
