Recently, Netflix rolled out data suggesting that the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer has reigned first spot in India, Bangladesh, Mauritius and Maldives. On the other hand, it has charted in the list of the top 10 in other countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Brazil among others.
In the film Fighter, Anil Kapoor played Group Captain Rakesh Jaisingh for which he received immense praise and appreciation from the audience. As Fighter continues to soar in popularity on Netflix, it must be noted that the actor’s last released film with Ranbir Kapoor also performed extensively well on the OTT platform. Before Fighter, the Jug Jug Jeeyo actor nailed it with his performance in the film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Ranbir Kapoor’s film, upon its release on Netflix, earlier this year, was welcomed with a warm response, making it trending for the longest time in the OTT space.
Coming back to Fighter, the film features Hrithik Roshan playing squadron leader Shamsher Pathania, aka Patty, whereas Deepika essays the role of Minal Rathore. The plot of the film is set against the background of a terror attack in Srinagar. The film, besides Deepika, Hrithik and Anil, also stars Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in key roles. Produced under the banners of Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, the film garnered over Rs 337 crore worldwide.
