Mumbai: Gold prices crashed by Rs 175 to Rs 9,605 per ten grams in early trade, in line with extremely weak overseas advices and an unprecedented decline on bourses worldwide.
Silver prices also fell in tandem with the decline with the yellow metal.
Silver prices dipped by Rs 640 to Rs 18,730 per a kg from Saturday's close of Rs 19,370.
Standard gold was quoted at Rs 9,605 that is down by Rs 175 per ten grams from previous close of Rs 9,780.
Pure gold fell sharply by Rs 180 to Rs 9,655 per ten grams from last close of Rs 9,835.
Gold prices suffered a sharp setback by over 31 dollars in International markets on Saturday.
