Actor-director M Sasikumar is all set to appear in an upcoming thriller drama directed by Sathyasiva, known for his work in the film Kazhugu. The film is being produced by Pandian Parasuram under the banner of Vijayaganapathy Pictures. He is known as a seasoned executive producer with a strong presence in several notable Tamil films. The Sasikumar-starrer also features actress Lijomol Jose in the lead role. The shooting for this project began earlier and is currently in full swing.
This film is described as an intense thriller inspired by a true event from the 1990s. The official title will be unveiled by the production team shortly. The crew is putting in significant effort to create an authentic portrayal of the 1990s era. To immerse the audience in the ambience of that period, an elaborate set has been constructed along Chennai’s East Coast Road.
Sasikumar assumes a unique character, while Lijomol Jose, known for her exceptional role in Jai Bhim, portrays the female lead. The film also introduces Bollywood’s emerging talent, Sudev Nair, as the antagonist. This movie features a diverse ensemble of accomplished actors including Paruthiveeran Saravanan, Malavika from KGF, Bose Venkat, Mu Ramasamy, Ramesh Khanna and others.
Set against the backdrop of Chennai’s scenic locales, this untitled film is being produced with grandeur. The announcements regarding the film’s teaser, trailer and audio launch will be made soon. The film’s technical team comprises Ghibran as the music director, NS Udhayakumar as the cinematographer, and Srikanth NB as the editor.
Sasikumar is best known for Pasanga, Naadodigal, Sundarapandian and Subramaniapuram. Some of his other projects include Kodiveeran, Balle Vellaiyathevaa, Tharai Thappattai and Poraali.
He received top honours for his work in Subramaniapuram at the 2009 Tamil Filmfare Awards, clinching both the Best Film and Best Director awards. Furthermore, his film Pasanga earned him accolades as it bagged the Best Film at the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards and the Best Feature Film at the National Film Awards.
Meanwhile, Sathyasiva is known for films such as Naan Mirugamaai Maara and 1945 alongside Kazhugu.
