Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee scripted history by smashing six sixes in an over against Qatar in the ACC Men's Premier Cup.

It was a historic moment for Nepal Cricket as the middle-order batter, Dipendra Singh Airee, etched his name in the history books to become the third batter in T20I history to smash six sixes in an over.

Airee during the ACC Men’s Premier Cup competition, managed this feat during the game against Qatar. He joins legendary batters like, Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard to share the exclusive feat of hitting six sixes in an over.

The 24-year-old Airee finished with an unbeaten score of 64 runs off 21 deliveries which included, 64 runs off 21 deliveries at a strike rate of 304.76. The knock included three boundaries and seven maximums in the innings. He was supported by Aasif Sheikh who hit 52 as Nepal posted 210 runs in the first innings.

The Nepal batter becomes the fifth batter across all formats in international cricket to achieve this feat. Herschelle Gibbs from South Africa and USA’s Jaskaran Malhotra had done the same in ODI’s.

Coincidentally the batter had also struck six maximums across two overs during the Asian Games in Hangzhou where he struck the same against Mongolia in September, last year.

His contributions did not end there as he went on to pick up two wickets as well in the second innings as Nepal went on to beat Qatar by 32 runs and Airee won the Player of the Match award for his knock of 62 along with bowling figures of 2/34 in his four overs.

Nepal’s next game will be against Hong Kong on April 15. They will look to keep up their unbeaten streak having won both the group-stage games in the tournament so far.

Following his knock, Airee also finds himself fifth on the run-scoring charts having racked up 84 runs in the two games played in the season.
