'After Sakshi Bhabhi, I Am The Only Guy...': Ravindra Jadeja's Playful Tease of MS Dhoni Regarding CSK's IPL 2023 Final Celebration
Ravindra Jadeja provided a grandstand finish, smashing a six and a boundary to script yet another last-ball thriller win in the IPL 2023 Final after which he went straight to Dhoni who lifted him up in the air in joy.

When one talks about the best picture-perfect finishes in the IPL, one would be remiss if they did not mention the aftermath of the IPL 2023. The frame of an aged Dhoni, seemingly in what would be one of his last seasons with the famed Chennai Super Kings, embracing his best general, Ravindra Jadeja, hoisting him up in the air right before the team would get to hoist the IPL trophy for a record-equalling fifth time themselves.

Well, ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni and his trusted aide, Jadeja, both got to relive and recall the iconic moment that entailed, during a promotional event in Chennai on Thursday, as the left-arm all-rounder Jadeja made a cheeky comment regarding their celebratory moment.

“I believe after Sakshi bhabhi, I am the only guy who was lifted by Mahi bhai,” joked Jadeja on stage, eliciting laughter from all present.

The final of the 2023 IPL will remain in the history books for various reasons. After the match shifted to the reserved day due to rain, Gujarat Titans posted a mammoth total of 214. Since rain played a spoilsport during the innings break, Chennai had a revised target of 171 runs to chase in 15 overs.

The top order helped Chennai in gaining a powerful start but their middle order lacked the urgency.

When there was hardly any hope left for Chennai, their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came out of his shell, to be the point of difference.

Ravindra Jadeja provided a grandstand finish, smashing a six and a boundary to script yet another last-ball thriller win for the Men in Yellow. Following the miraculous finish, Jadeja went straight to Dhoni and the Chennai captain lifted him up, a picture that will stay in the hearts of Thala fans forever.

Speaking on the same, the veteran Dhoni himself expounded on the importance of that particular innings from Jadeja, praising the all-rounder for his composure and resolve to see through the situation and bring glory back to the ‘Anbu’den.

“And this situation also, you know I was quite confident about Jaddu having the talent and the mindset to achieve the target. But again, it’s not definitely that this is what will happen. It was a very memorable innings. You know the few sixes that he hit before the last ball, I think those were very difficult.

Looking at the TV, it looks easy. But, now that I bat down the order, I know how difficult it is to get that kind of elevation and win it for a six. And at the same time, everyone is under pressure. The opposition wants to win, we want to win. It’s hard work for everyone. So, I’m glad we were on the winning side and the emotions were very high. So, a big round of applause for Jaddu for the way he batted,” exclaimed a calm and cool Dhoni.
