The fever of T20 cricket will engulf the fans when Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will commence from March 22. The season opener will see the defending champions Chennai Super Kings squaring off against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chepauk. With the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 around the corner, the focus will be on Indian cricketers pressing their case to make the cut. Also, several uncapped players will look to grab attention in the cash-rich league.
The IPL 2024 players’ auction, held last year in Dubai, saw some young talents breaking the banks. The fans will be eager to see them in action when the tournament takes the stage. Before the season unfolds across multiple venues, let’s have a look at 10 uncapped players to watch out for.
Sameer Rizvi – Chennai Super Kings
Rizvi is an exciting prospect from Uttar Pradesh who bagged a contract worth Rs 8.4 crore from the defending champions CSK at the auction. He was recently a part of the UP Ranji Trophy team. He even showcased his talent with some impressive knocks in the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy, including a triple hundred against Saurashtra. Rizvi, who hails from Meerut, is often called a ‘Right-handed Suresh Raina’.
Abhishek Sharma – Sunrisers Hyderabad
Abhishek Sharma is a dark horse in the SRH camp who has cemented his place with some impressive knocks and impactful cameos. The Punjab all-rounder has been scoring runs in plenty since 2022 and will look for another great season under the newly-appointed captain, Pat Cummins. Out of his 893 IPL runs, 552 were accumulated in the last two seasons. He also has 9 wickets in his kitty. His form in the SMAT 2023 (485 runs in 10 matches, 2 hundreds and 3 fifties) is another reason he remains an exciting prospect to look forward to.

Kumar Kushagra – Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals splurged a whopping Rs 7.2 crore to get wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra on board. The Jharkhand cricketer will be DC’s backup for Rishabh Pant, who has been declared completely fit by the BCCI. Kushagra recently turned up for India A against the England Lions and before that, he smashed a hundred against Services in a Ranji Trophy fixture in Delhi.
Arshin Kulkarni – Lucknow Super Giants
Kulkarni hogged the limelight for his heroics in the Under-19 World Cup which fast-tracked his First-class career with a debut for Maharashtra. He will be a part of the Lucknow Super Giants dugout in the IPL 2024 and is pretty excited to learn new things from Justin Langer and KL Rahul.
Riyan Parag – Rajasthan Royals
Parag isn’t a new name in the IPL anymore. The Assam all-rounder has been a crucial cog in the Rajasthan Royals camps and will walk into the season on the back of terrific form which was on display in the domestic matches. He was top-scorer of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament, scoring 510 runs and 7 half-centuries in 10 matches. Even in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy, the 22-year-old scored a couple of hundreds and a fifty.
Suyash Sharma – Kolkata Knight Riders
The leg spinner of KKR will once again look to make a mark in the new season, especially after having a great domestic season. He was one of the finds of IPL 2023, picking up 10 wickets in 11 matches. Later in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, he scalped 18 wickets for Delhi in 7 matches to finish the season as the second-highest wicket-taker.
Mohsin Khan – Lucknow Super Giants
LSG’s left-arm pacer Mohsin is a vital cog in the team’s pace battery. He made his debut in the 2022 edition and picked up 14 wickets in 9 matches. The last season he wasn’t that effective but redeemed himself after grinding in the domestic and picking up 11 wickets for UP in SMAT 2023.

Yash Dayal – Royal Challengers Bangalore
The fans know him as the bowler who was smacked for 5 sixes by Rinku Singh in IPL 2023. But he would look to start afresh under RCB’s umbrella. The left-arm pacer has been one of the prime bowlers from Uttar Pradesh and will likely play a big role for Bengaluru in the forthcoming season.
Shashank Singh – Punjab Kings
Shashank Singh comes as an explosive batter who has brief IPL experience. He has previously represented the SRH and Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and is set to ply his trade under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan. He has played 10 matches so far and has 69 runs to his credit.
Robin Minz – Gujarat Titans
The Gujarat Titans roped in the first tribal cricketer from Jharkhand, wicketkeeper-batter Robin Minz for Rs 3.06 crore. Known for his hard-hitting skills, he recently scored a blazing double hundred in the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy for his state. But ahead of the IPL 2024, he encountered a minor bike accident and if reports are to be believed, he might miss the season. However, there’s no official confirmation from the franchise yet.
