The Nepal international cricketer, Sandeep Lamichhane has revealed that he was denied the visa to enter the United States of America and join his team who are set to take part in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
Recently, the leg-spinner was also cleared of charges of rape by the Nepal court following which the Nepal Cricket Board revealed that they would accommodate the 23-year-old to the national squad that is set to take part in the T20I showpiece event.

In a post uploaded on his official handle on X (formerly known as Twitter), the leg-spinner revealed the news which will not be ideal for the Nepal squad who will look to bank on his experience in the tournament. He has played in various franchise leagues across the world including the CPL where his experience will come in handy.
His post read, “And the US Embassy in Nepal did it again what they did back in 2019, they denied my Visa for the T-20 World Cup happening in the USA and West Indies. Unfortunate. I am sorry to all the well-wishers of Nepal Cricket”.

The Nepal international revealed a similar incident when he was applying for a visa to participate in the West Indies T20 cricket league, Caribbean Premier League back in 2019.
After being denied the visa, it could mean that the spinner could miss out on participating in Nepal’s T20 World Cup campaign which will prove to be a huge miss.

The side is set to start their tournament with the group-stage fixture against the Netherlands on June 4 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. They also have the games against Sri Lanka, South Africa and Bangladesh following their opening clash.
Before the tournament starts they are also set to play two warm-up games against Canada and the co-hosts USA as well.
