As the world continues to be amazed by the stellar comeback made by the Indian cricket star, Rishabh Pant, it seems that he might have found himself in deep waters in social media.
In the Indian-based crowdfunding platform Ketto, it is seen that a user who goes by the name of Rishabh Pant has donated a sum of 90,000 INR for a crowdfunding campaign by Kartikey Maurya who used the platform to raise funds for his engineering studies at Chandigarh University.
However, CricketNext cannot verify whether the user who donated the amount is the Indian wicketkeeper-batter himself.
Pant on his X account, also took the time to reply to the fan with a thoughtful message. He said, ” Keep chasing your dreams . God has better plans always tc”.

The original handle that posted the tweet seemingly deleted the post for unknown reasons and also deactivated their account shortly after.
Other users also hit back at Pant for the possible donation as it is believed the money might be used for other purposes. A user replied by uploading an unverified screenshot of the original user where he can be seen asking for funds on X after he seemingly lost 90,000 INR after gambling.

Currently, the Indian international cricketer is likely preparing himself for a possible call-up to the Indian Test team which is set to take part in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Chennai and Kanpur respectively. This would be followed by a three-match T20I series in Gwalior, Delhi and Hyderabad.
Should he be selected for the Indian Test team, it would mark his return to the longest format of 1 year and 8 months. Coincidentally his last test was also against Bangladesh which took place in 2022 in Mirpur.
Pant suffered horrific injuries after being involved in a car accident that took place on December 30, 2022, following which he was seen out of action for well over a year.
He then made a comeback to international cricket where he was part of the Indian squad that went on to win the T20 World Cup 2024. Pant was the starting wicketkeeper and he had a crucial role in the Men in Blue winning their second T20 World Cup title.
Now his highly-anticipated return to red-ball cricket will be the next step to complete his comeback as he will look to fire with the bat and get on the plane to Australia where the Indian team will aim to defend the Border-Gavaskar trophy that is set to take place in November, later this year.
