Ahead of the tournament, the franchise has shared a video of Arjun’s bowling practice in nets in which the pacer can be seen leaving a batter in the dust in the two balls he bowled.

Mumbai Indians pacer Arjun Tendulkar’s sensational bowling prowess was on full display in a video shared on social media. The left-arm pacer has been a part of the Mumbai Indians franchise since 2021.

Arjun, who is the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, made his debut with the franchise last year and is also expected to represent Mumbai Indians in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign, starting this month.

Ahead of the tournament, the franchise has shared a video of Arjun’s bowling practice in nets on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the video, the pacer can be seen leaving a batter in the dust in the two balls he bowled. “Just Arjun doing Arjun things”, Mumbai Indians wrote in their post.

Arjun is known for his genuine outswing. He is also capable of getting the ball to swing late at a very high speed. He is also recognised for his ability to add crucial runs with the bat. Arjun’s all-round potential was one of the key reasons that drove the Mumbai Indians to pursue the cricketer at the 2021 IPL auction. He was purchased for Rs 20 lakhs. Ahead of the 15th IPL season, Arjun was retained by the franchise for Rs 30 lakhs.

Speaking of his performances in the IPL, Arjun has competed in four games so far. In these four games, the player has scored 13 runs at a strike rate of 144.44 and has scalped three wickets at an economy of 9.36.

Arjun made his debut in the tournament against the Kolkata Knight Riders last year on April 16. The player was congratulated by his father, Sachin on X in a post that read, “Arjun, today you have taken another important step in your journey as a cricketer. As your father, someone who loves you and is passionate about the game, I know you will continue to give the game the respect it deserves and the game will love you back.”

Arjun was soon able to claim his maiden wicket in the IPL in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad having dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Mumbai Indians are set to take on the Gujarat Titans in their IPL 2024 opener on March 24. The match is scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
