Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has shared a glimpse of the team’s T20 World Cup 2024 trophy parade he shot on his phone, on social media. After a brief visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in Delhi, the Men in Blue were en route to the Marine Drive in Mumbai for a trophy parade on July 4. Surrounded by thousands, the Indian cricketers laughed and danced on the team bus as it moved through the crowd.

Rohit shared a video on X, highlighting the magical ambience Marine Drive showcased on Thursday night. In the post’s caption, the captain wrote, “Still thinking about last night. Thank you for all the love.”

In the video, Rohit Sharma can be seen rocking the official orange and blue T20 World Cup kit. He smiles at his smartphone’s front camera before turning towards the crowd. A police van surrounded several officials could also be spotted following the bus closely while monitoring the crowd. Seeing the captain turn, a loud cheer is heard from the fans. Hearing the response from the supporters Rohit signals a thumbs-up gesture at the crowd before keeping the phone aside.

Apart from the reactions in Marine Drive, Indian supporters also flocked to the comments section of the post to congratulate the cricketer on the historic triumph.

After winning the T20 World Cup against South Africa, Rohit Sharma urged Indian supporters to join the team in a trophy parade on X. In his post, the Indian skipper wrote, “We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive and Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards. It’s coming home.” As the captain requested, massive crowds of supporters joined the Men in Blue at Marine Drive for the celebrations.

While this might not be Rohit Sharma’s last ICC trophy, it certainly is his last T20 World Cup trophy. The cricketer had announced retirement from the T20I format alongside Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja after their victory at the Kensington Oval.
