Mayank Yadav was the star of Lucknow Super Giants win over Punjab Kings the young debutant bowled one of the fastest deliveries in IPL history.

Lucknow Super Giants have unearthed India’s latest fast bowling sensation in Mayank Yadav who became the talk of the town with his express pace that saw him consistently clock in the 150 kmphs. The 21-year-old made his IPL debut on Saturday night against Punjab Kings and he finished with bowling figures of 3/27 to win player-of-the-match award in LSG’s 21-run win.

Mayank’s 150kmphs thunderbolts troubled PBKS batters and all his three wickets came off short deliveries. He got rid of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma to bring LSG back into the contest after PBKS openers laid an excellent platform with a century stand in chase of 200 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

PBKS slipped in the run-chase after Mayank’s introduction as he took out Bairstow in his second over.

However, it was three deliveries before his maiden IPL wicket that Mayank caught everybody’s attention when he sent down a 155.8kmph thunderbolt to PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan to beat the outside edge of the star batter.

It’s the quickest delivery of IPL 2024 bowled so far as Mayank overtook Rajasthan Royal’s paceman Nandre Burger who had set the pace earlier clocking 153.
