The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced the Bharatiya Antariksh Hackathon (BAH) to commemorate National Space Day 2024. Twelve Geospatial Applications problem statements, drawn from NESAC, PRL, SPL, SAC, NRSC, and other well-known ISRO centres, are the focus of this event. Participants are requested to submit their creative solutions in groups of three to four Indian students from undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programmes.
According to Moneycontrol, this hackathon provides an excellent chance for students interested in Geo-Spatial Applications to display their skills and contribute to the area. Interested participants should mark their calendars, create teams, and submit their unique ideas by July 26 to be considered for this exciting challenge.
The hackathon will follow a two-tier vetting procedure. Initially, 100 teams would be selected based on the innovation and relevancy of their concepts. An expert committee will review these entries, reducing the field to 30 teams for the grand final. This last stage will be a 30-hour marathon event held at the NRSC Outreach Facility in Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, beginning at 10 am IST on August 13, 2024.
Teams who are interested in taking part have until July 26, 2024, to submit their applications via a special website. The teams who advance to the grand finale will be announced on August 2, 2024.
The hackathon online site will be officially launched by ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath on July 4, 2024, at 10:30 am. The launch will be aired live on ISRO’s YouTube account, giving space lovers the opportunity to witness the start of this momentous event.
