The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the UGC NET 2024 for the June session tomorrow, June 18. The UGC NET 2024 will be held for 83 subjects across 360 centres nationwide. This test assesses the eligibility of candidates for assistant professor and junior research fellow positions in Indian universities.
The examination will take place in two shifts: the first from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the second from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., using OMR sheets in an offline format. Candidates must bring a hard copy of the previously released admit card to the examination centre.
Important guidelines for the UGC NET 2024:
— Candidates must bring their admit card to the examination centre.
— Candidates should carry one passport-size photograph and a valid ID (PAN card,
— Driving License, Passport, or Aadhaar Card) with a name matching the admit card.
— Candidates should take their seats immediately after the examination hall opens.
— Late arrivals due to reasons such as traffic jams or delays in trains/buses will likely miss important instructions.
— Ensure you receive the correct question paper as mentioned in your admit card.
— If you receive a different subject, inform the invigilator immediately.
— Seats will be allocated according to roll numbers, and candidates must sit in their assigned seats.
— The use or attempted use of any electronic device is strictly prohibited after entering the exam centre.
In terms of reporting time, candidates are required to report to the examination centre two hours before the commencement of the examination in order to complete the frisking and registration formalities well in advance. The registration desk will close down 30 minutes before the examination.
The exam will be administered in 83 subjects in OMR (Pen and Paper) mode on a single day. Exams for 42 subjects will be held in the morning shift and 41 subjects in the afternoon shift. The UGC NET is conducted twice a year, once in June and then in December, for individuals interested in becoming Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) at Indian universities and colleges.
