London: Arsenal forward Theo Walcott will miss England's crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland as he needs to undergo an abdominal surgery.
The 24-year-old didn't play in Arsenal's Premier League match against Stoke Sunday despite being initially named in the team, reports Xinhua.
"Theo will be out for a few weeks. He has developed some damage to his posterior abdominal wall. It's not a hernia but it's a little structural problem in his abdomen," said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
