City plan record bid for Ronaldo
Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid from Manchester United in a record 80 million Pound move.

London: Manchester City have planned to break the bank to secure the services of Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, according to media reports.

After securing their Champions League berth for next season after back-to back victories against Stoke and Tottenham Hotspur, City plan on another major revamping of the squad and want the Portuguese Ronaldo to begin their marquee signing parade, The Mirror reported.

Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid from Manchester United in a record 80 million Pound move in 2009 and signed a six-year contract worth over 100m pounds.

With Real Madrid failing to win the La Liga and unable to progress past Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final, Ronaldo might fancy a switch to the blue side of Manchester considering City are the only club who have enough financial muscle to lure him away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
