The Queen's Park Rangers, Fulham, and Tottenham are all scheduled to play at home on Saturday.

New Delhi: The London police, battling the rioters in the city, have advised all football clubs to postpone matches as violence continues to grip Britan's capital, Sky News reported on Tuesday.

Already, two Carling Cup matches at Charlton and West Ham have been called off and Wednesday's friendly between England and the Netherlands at the Wembley is in doubt. But the crucial question is whether the English Premier League season scheduled to start on Saturday, August 13 will go ahead as per plan.

The Premier Leage would be worst affected if all games were postponed, with the Queen's Park Rangers, Fulham, and Tottenham all scheduled to play at home on Saturday.

Following the rioting in Tottenham over the weekend, Tottenham Hotspur football club issued a statement saying that the club will try and go ahead with the game and that they are doing everything they can to ensure the safety for supporters. The damage at Tottenham's White Hart Lane stadium was limited to a ticket office, which remains closed.

The club also advised fans to stay up to date with the situation via their site in case they are advised to postpone the fixture.
