Paris: Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi has revealed the prospective deal to bring David Beckham to the French capital is off.
The former England captain's contract with the LA Galaxy has expired and he had long been expected to sign for the French capital club. However, Al Khelaifi has revealed a move is dead and suggested that the 36-year-old will re-sign with the MLS Cup holders.
When Al Khelaifi was asked if he thought Beckham would be staying in LA, he replied: "Yes, I think so. David Beckham is in Los Angeles and will stay there. He will not come, it's clear."
PSG director, and former AC Milan and Inter manager Leonardo, added: "We can say that it's over. Beckham would have come, but his family made the difference. He has four children, it would have been difficult for him to leave for a new adventure."
Rumours of Beckham's potential departure have been rife, with reports suggesting the Galaxy’s MLS Cup final win against Houston Dynamo was almost certain to be his final game for the club.
However, Beckham could now be set to stay in America where he and his family have lived since leaving Real Madrid in 2007.
