With the start of the new F1 season right around the corner, Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber driver Valtteri Bottas flaunted his new helmet design that he will sport in the upcoming campaign.

The helmet the Finn is set to don in the 2024 season bases itself on the theme of the Northern Lights, a naturally occurring phenomenon noted for its stunning visuals of light display.

“Northern Lights or as some people know them, Aurora,” Bottas began as he held up his new helmet which looked incredible.

“I love them. I see them god often luckily in Finland. And that is our theme for the year,” Bottas continued touching up on the cultural significance of the phenomenon that attracts millions of tourists every year.

“It is not only that. We also have the Northern Star, which has been guiding Finns for decades. It is an important star to us, not just for navigating, but also the meaning,” he added.

The helmet also pays homage to multiple star constellations visible in the region Bottas hails from.

“Then we have lots of star constellations you can see up in the north particularly,” Bottas said with a beaming smile and wonder.

“Tiffany designed this beautiful piece of steel helmet and the painted by Daniel from Steele,”  the Finn said.

“I’m very happy with it and if you know all the stars and the constellations, that is impressive,” the 34-year-old concluded.

Following the departure of Alfa Romeo, which lent its name to the team from 2019 to the end of 2023, Sauber has rebranded itself as ‘Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber’ as it awaits the takeover of Audi scheduled to take place in the year 2026.

Bottas finished the 2023 season in the 15th spot in the driver’s standings with 10 points to his name. The Finn could not register any wins or podium positions, and will hope for a change of fortunes as the 2024 season kicks off with the Bahrain Grand Prix slated to be held on the 4th of March.
