Pranay Loya, a senior associate at Bain and Company, recently turned a routine shopping trip for an office bag into a memorable encounter with entrepreneurship at a DailyObjects store in Gurgaon’s Cyber Hub. Loya shared his unexpected and intriguing experience on LinkedIn, revealing that what started as a simple quest for an office bag resulted in an unplanned expenditure of Rs 20,000, all thanks to the dedication and passion of an enthusiastic salesman.
Upon entering the DailyObjects store, Loya encountered an energetic employee who was none other than Pankaj Garg, the co-founder of the renowned Indian tech accessories and lifestyle brand. Amused by the salesman’s zeal, Loya jokingly remarked, “Aap ye product toh aise bech rahe ho jaise apki company hai! (You are selling products as if it is your company).”
To his surprise, Loya discovered that he was indeed interacting with the co-founder. Recounting the somewhat awkward moment, he wrote, “He looked at me, smiled, and continued to show different products.”
Garg went on to share his extensive experience, mentioning that he had travelled across India and over 25 countries to gather trends and design inspiration. He also highlighted collaborations with more than 500 craftsmen and serving over 2.5 million customers.
Despite the unexpected encounter, Loya found himself captivated by Garg’s passion for the brand. “The passion to sell, the hunger to grow, and the vision to be the best could be seen in his eyes,” Loya noted.
“Leaving the store with a Rs 20k bill and multiple bags in hand, I reflected on more than just a purchase,” he added.
He expressed gratitude to Garg for transforming his routine shopping into a “memorable encounter with entrepreneurship” and hailed him for his unwavering passion and commitment.
Sharing his enthusiasm for Gurgaon, Loya remarked, “I love being in Gurgaon. You bump into celebrities and startup founders randomly at unexpected places!”
Since sharing his post online, it has garnered hundreds of reactions and numerous comments from LinkedIn users.
“I love DailyObjects. I’ve received so many compliments for my bag & I don’t know what is with their products, you just can’t stop buying after one or two,” a user wrote.
“Founder knows the value of customers,” wrote another.
A third user shared their perspective, affirming that the store is genuinely cool and lives up to the expectations they had from seeing the ads.
