Megastar Chiranjeevi was last seen in the movie Bhola Shankar, which displayed a disastrous performance at the box office. Then he announced his next two movies, which were tentatively titled Mega156 and Mega157, helmed by different directors. Now, according to media reports, there have been some changes in plans regarding these upcoming films. Firstly, Mega157 was supposed to be directed by Kalyan Krishna. The movie was speculated to be the remake of the Malayalam movie, Bro Daddy. Chiranjeevi decided to postpone Mega157 after a host of his remake films were unsuccessful at the box office. It is said that the actor wants to maintain distance from remakes, especially after his failure with the movie Bhola Shankar.
Now Chiranjeevi’s Mega157 is in talks with another Tamil director. It is reported that the film will be helmed by PS Mithran. It is expected to be based on a social message. The movie is currently in its pre-production stage. Nothing has been officially announced by the makers yet. The actor plans to work on his next two films simultaneously. As per reports, Chiranjeevi sent Vasishta’s writing team to Chennai to help the director PS Mithran modify the script, according to his megastar’s image.
Mega 156 is a socio-fantasy film which stars Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role and is expected to be released on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in 2025. The shooting of the movie will go on till the last week of April. After that, the makers of the movie will work on its VFX for six months. The budget of Mega156 is expected to be high, as estimated from the first look poster of the film.
The puja ceremony for Mega156 was held a couple of days ago, which saw the attendance of the film’s director, music composer and other important members of the team. Oscar-winning musician MM Keeravani will be composing the music for Mega156. He has already started composing a celebratory song for the film reportedly.
