Vijay Deverakonda has established his image as one of the most sought-after actors in Telugu cinema and has now even ascended to the image of a pan-India star. The actor is now ready for yet another box-office outing titled Family Star. Vijay unveiled a glimpse of this movie on Instagram on Wednesday.
The teaser of Family Star shows a ganglord (Ajay Ghosh) telling Vijay that chopping onions and getting kids ready for school is not a sign of masculinity. Vijay is seen performing these tasks in the teaser. Vijay remains unperturbed by these remarks and then goes on to bend a rod and beat one of the gang members. The teaser ends with Mrunal Thakur calling Vijay, hinting at a possible romantic track between the two actors. “In every family – there is A Hero! This one is for all of you,” the caption of the teaser reads. Parasuram has directed this movie.

Social media users loved the teaser, especially the background music, that plays at the end. One of the users commented that the music provided the vibe for Geetha Govindam. For those who don’t know, Geetha Govindam revolves around a young lecturer Vijay Govind (Vijay). He is misunderstood as a pervert and despised by a woman Geetha (Rashmika Mandanna). Geetha co-incidentally turns out to be the younger sister of his brother-in-law. How the differences between the two subside and eventually love blossoms between the two forms the core theme of Geetha Govindam. This film was a great success at the box office with many appreciating the on-screen chemistry between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna.
Coming back to Vijay’s film Family Star, its shooting is currently proceeding at a brisk pace and will have a grand release at the Sankranti festival 2024. The release date will be announced soon. KU Mohan has been roped in to handle the cinematography of this movie. Gopi Sundar will compose the music.
Vijay last essayed the male lead in the film Kushi opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Kushi received mixed reviews from the audience. Some appreciated the storyline while others opined that there was nothing novel about the film.
