HYDERABAD: The city police nabbed two Nigerian drug peddlers on Sunday and recovered eight gm of cocaine from them.One of the accused had been earlier arrested by police for selling the banned substance to a customer.On information that two drug peddlers were coming near the main gate of Durgam Cheruvu at Jubilee Hills Road No 36, the West Zone police and Jubilee Hills police laid a trap and nabbed the duo.The nabbed are Sakiry Oladotum Akinsalo and Okechnkwu Ohazurike, police said.Sakiry (53) hails from Lagos in Nigeria and is doing spare parts business in the city and staying at Sainikpuri while 30-year-old Ohazurike is from Owerri Imo state in Nigeria and is doing readymade garments business in Mumbai.“Sakiry supplies spare parts to Nigeria and is a regular consumer of cocaine and buys the banned substance from one Jackson, who is a native of Uganda,’’ West Zone deputy commissioner of police Stephen Ravindra said.Sariky came into contact with drug peddler Ohazurike.“Sariky used to supply drugs to consumers in the city and also customers of Ohazurike for which the latter was paid commission,’’ the DCP said.A few days back, Sakiry brought eight packets containing eight gm of cocaine and the duo contaced a person for supplying the same.When they came near Durgam Cheruvu, they were nabbed and the cocaine seized from the duo.“We are yet to get their passport and other documents to ascertain whether they are staying here legally,’’ Jubilee Hills police inspector K Narsing Rao said. Ohazurike was arrested by the city police a few months back while peddling drugs.Police also recovered two mobile phones and are verifying their customers.
