3 held for lorry drivers death

PUDUCHERRY: Three persons were arrested on Monday in connection with the death of a lorry driver, who was beaten up by a group following a road rage incident on Sunday.The Villianur police have registered cases under Section 143 (unlawful assembly) and 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) against the group of 17 members. The police are on the look out of the rest of the group.A top official said that post-mortem had been performed at the Government Hospital but they were still awaiting the test results from a laboratory which was expected to arrive within a few days. It may be recalled that on March 12 a lorry driver Saravanan was attacked by a group after  the vehicle that he was driving, rammed a motorcycle.  The police intervened and took him to the VillianurPHC. However, upon arrival, he was declared ‘brought dead’.
