After Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, poll-bound Rajasthan is went for polls today.
The general populace of 4.08 crore voters in Rajasthan will exercise their franchise on Sunday to elect their representatives.
A total of 2069 candidates are in fray including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Out of a total number of 200 seats, balloting will take place in 199 constituencies. Following the death of a BSP candidate, polling has been postponed in Churu to December 13.
The newly constituted National Peoples Party (NPP) has candidates in 150 constituencies, while BSP is in fray in over 100 seats.
The leading candidates are Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, BJP's Vasundhara Raje, Gujjar leader Prahlad Gunjal, state Congress president Chandrabhan and Meena community leader Kirori Lal Meena.
For the Congress, party president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi, election campaign committee chairman and general secretary C.P. Joshi, Union Minister Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav Gehlot lead the poll campaign.
BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, party president Rajnath Singh, senior leaders Arun Jaitely and Sushma Swaraj, Bollywood actors Hema Malini and Shatrughan Sinha and TV actress Smriti Irani were the star campaigners.
