Former minister and ex-MLA Bapu Singh Damor passed away in Ahmedabad on Tuesday after a prolonged illness, family sources said. He was 85. Damor was elected as a Congress MLA from Jhabua seat for the sixth time and had also served as minister of state in then Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh's cabinet.

The Congress leader was undergoing treatment for various ailments for quite a long time in Jhabua before he was shifted to Ahmedabad, they said, adding his last rites will be performed on Wednesday at his ancestral village of Pithanpur.
