8-month-old boy kidnapped

CHENNAI: Police have launched a hunt for a middle aged woman in connection with the kidnap of an eight-month-old boy at Mahakavi Bharathi Nagar on Monday. Little Sanjay was with his grandmother Lakshmi (55), a tender coconut seller, at the time of the incident, when a woman accosted her and took him away. “When she came back without the boy, I asked her about him and she replied that he was asleep at her house,” Lakshmi said. “I told her to bring him soon. But she disappeared after some time and it was then that I realised that the child had been kidnapped.”Then, she informed her son Ramesh, and her daughter-in-law Viji, who works at a private company, about their missing child. The couple lives in 8th Block in Udhayasuriyan Nagar.
