BNAGALORE: For those looking for a chilly weekend indoors, the weather was just perfect on Saturday. The evening showers added more chill to the party goers. For the past few weeks, it has been quite chilly in the mornings and in the evenings, especially after a downpour. The minimum temperature stood at 20 degree Celsius, while the maximum was slightly above normal, around 29.In the first week of monsoon, many Bangaloreans travelled to Ooty, Coorg and other green places for weekends but with the city also witnessing similar weather, people are staying back.There was moderate rain all over the city on Saturday (1.9 centimetres). The downpour hit normal traffic in Majestic, K R Circle, Corporation and K R Market areas.The incessant rains uprooted three trees in Madivala, Maruthinagar and other places. The rain started in the afternoon and did not stop till evening. Severe waterlogging was reported from Tilak Nagar, Sriramapuram, Okalipuram and parts of Cox Town, Bannerghatta Road, Central Silk Board junction, Indiranagar 100 Feet Road, Dairy Circle, and Hebbal flyover.There were no reports of damages to property or casualties till Saturday night. The BBMP control rooms received complaints of tree falling.Water entered into houses in lowlying areas such as GM Palya, Mahadevapura, Byrasandra, Sheshadripuram, Indiranagar and Nagarbhavi.
