A rude shock to cops

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cops, who nabbed a KSEB staffer for drunken driving, got a rude shock the other day after the accused removed the fuse on a nearby transformer plunging the Vattiyoorkkavu police station and nearby houses into darkness. The Vattiyoorkavu police have now submitted a report to the KSEB and top officials of the police. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday after the police stopped Satheesh Kumar, a staffer with the Vattiyoorkavu section and hailing from Manikanteswaram, for alleged drunken driving.According to the Vattiyoorkavu police, the accused had “taken revenge” for the incident by removing the fuse on a nearby transformer.  This led to some unscheduled ‘loadshedding’ at the Vattiyoorkavu police station and nearby areas, police said.“The KSEB officials immediately replaced the fuse. The KSEB employee’s action had plunged not just the station, but houses also,” the police officials said. Miffed cops have now shot off separate reports to the KSEB and top police officials on the incident.
