New Delhi: A special court in Ghaziabad on Friday granted bail to Krishna and Rajkumar, prime suspects in the sensational Aarushi Talwar murder case.
Krishna's bail application was filed before Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special magistrate Sapna Misra, while Raj Kumar's bail plea was filed before additional district judge Rama Jain.
Krishna and Rajkumar were granted bail on two sureties of Rs 25,000 each. Vijay Mondal, the third accused, got bail last week.
The investigative agency opposed the bail application saying probe against Rajkumar was underway but the court concluded there was no evidence against him.
The CBI told court it had telephonic records suggesting that the suspect was constantly in touch with Hemraj, the murdered domestic help of the Talwars.
However, the court dismissed the argument and also did not buy fears that Krishna and Rajkumar, both citizens of Nepal , could flee India to seek shelter there.
Also, the court did not agree with the CBI's point that the two might try to destroy evidence if released.
Both Krishna and Rajkumar were in judicial custody since June 13 in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj.
The CBI failed to a chargesheet against the them within 90 days of his arrest.
Aarushi was found killed with her throat slit in her Noida home May 16. The Noida police initially blamed family help Hemraj but backtracked after his body was found a day later on the terrace of the apartment.
Aarushi's dentist father Rajesh Talwar was arrested a week later. On July 11, CBI joint director Arun Kumar gave a clean chit to Talwar and accused his medical assistant Krishna and two others, Raj Kumar and Vijay Mandal, on the basis of narco analysis tests.
